The Journey of Codie West: An actor, model music composer, musician, singer, sound editor, and voice artist

New Delhi : This multitalented artist grew up in London, United Kingdom. He has been professionally active since the wee age of 5. His first step into the world of glamour and entertainment was a modeling assignment for The Early Learning. His performance as a child model was so elegant and professional that it made headlines the next day.  His journey has been anything but smooth. He was diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder) at the age of 14 and had to be put on medication to deal with the condition.  He was not passionate about academics and instead, enjoyed arts like music and drama. Unfortunately, he had to be placed on a reduced timetable of 2 hours of work causing these subjects to be taken away from his curriculum.  Subsequently, Codie dropped out of school at the age of 15. Life got tougher as he became homeless at the age of 16 and sofa-surfed for sleeping.   He was moved to a hostel where the other inhabitants were drug dealers, drug users, and some so violent that they possessed guns.  After 18 months in the hostel, Codie moved to a studio flat.  Despite such trials and tribulations, a 17-year-old Codie was cast on a 6-episode television show. alongside the popular celebrity chef Jamie Oliver. Here, he met music Guru Jazzie B. This acquaintance was a major factor in Codie’s Decision to pursue music. After this experience, nothing could stop Codie. He was offered several other TV shows and signed contracts for local and international spots.

This powerhouse of talent also holds the honour of being invited to number 10 Downing Street to meet with the prime minister of the UK. The former class clown was also invited to be on a panel for an education committee held at the House of Commons which was broadcast nationwide on BBC Parliament. He next received £20,000 as a scholarship from Google. Codie utilized this to educate himself in arts like music courses, film courses and media training. He has also appeared on shows such as The X Factor, E4 Troy, ITV’s Let Me Entertain You and Eastenders. Codie has also attended events such as the National television awards and even performed his music at the BRIT Awards after party two years in a row. When Codie was signed to a record label he had to take down over 50 original songs from Spotify! Though his latest music remains with hits such as “Stop right now” and “Need to know” whilst he’s in the process of writing his album, Codie has several upcoming music projects for you to hear!  His entire sound has changed and he’s looking forward to sharing it. What an inspirational journey!
