Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar passes away as he suffers heart attack

New Delhi : Actor Puneeth Rajkumar, best known for his work in the Sandalwood industry, passed away on Friday after suffering a fatal heart attack. He suddenly collapsed while doing work out at a gym and was rushed to a hospital in Karnataka. 

He has been admitted to the Vikram Hospital’s ICU and was receiving treatment when the news of his demise came in.

Puneeth's older brother Shiva Rajkumar and family members were seen entering the hospital while actors Yash, Darshan, and many others too reached soon after Karnataka C.M.

According to Dr Ranganath Nayak, Vikram Hospital, Bengaluru, Puneeth's condition was serious when he was brought to the hospital. 

"Puneeth Rajkumar was admitted after suffering chest pain at 11.30 am. Trying our best to treat him. His condition is serious. Can't say anything as of now. His condition was bad when brought to the hospital, treatment on in ICU, " Dr Ranganath Nayak said. 

Puneeth is the son of matinee idol Rajkumar. He is 46-year-old.
