Kannada actress in trouble for accepting Kiki challenge

New Delhi : Kannada actress Niveditha Gowda on Thursday apologised for her video in which she can be seen performing trending Kiki challenge that has been banned these days.

The actress participated in the trending challenge days after Bengaluru Police banned it in the state.

Talking to a news paper, Niveditha, best known for her participation in Bigg Boss Kannada, said that she was unaware of the ban on Kiki challenge. She deleted the video after learning the consequences. "I just saw the post on Instagram and tried it out. As soon as I got to know about the ban on Kiki Challenge, I took it down from my Instagram account, so that people stop accepting the Kiki Challenge. I am not the one who advises people to take up challenge and kill themselves," Times Of India quoted her as saying.

Meanwhile, another media report said that a Kannada activist has lodged a complaint against the actress for sharing the video. The Bengaluru police hasn't taken any action against Niveditha as of now, the report added.

The Bengaluru Police had banned kiki challenge last week.
