New Delhi : Rakul Preet Singh has approached the High Court, requesting them to put a stop on the media trial going on against her in connection with the drug probe in Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

The Court has issued a notice to the Central Government, Prasar Bharti, Press Council of India, National Broadcaster Association and the Information and Broadcast Ministry.

Rakul Preet Singh, in her petition before the Delhi High Court, has said that a media trial has been going on against her ever since her name came up in the Rhea Chakraborty case. The actress has requested the High Court to instruct the I&B Ministry that there should be no negative media coverage against her. Rakul Preet Singh, in her petition, also said that she got to know that Rhea has named her and Sara Ali Khan while she was on a shoot.

The Centre argued that since the CBI is already investigating the Rhea Chakraborty matter, media can atleast report what is going on. Justice Naveen Chawla then said that there has to be some 'restraint'. He added, "Media gets to know information even before the officers themselves. Reputations are getting tarnished."

The Court asked actor Rakul Preet Singh's lawyer why they haven't made any representation before the authority. "At least file a complaint against anyone of such channels," the Court said.

Delhi High Court has asked all media channels to work with discreation and has asked the Central Government, National Broadcaster Association, Prasar Bharti and the Press Council of India to give interim directions to media channels.
