Mumbai : Sooraj Pancholi has quit social media and last night the actor bid adieu to his Instagram handle. Sooraj deleted all his Instagram posts, except for the one he had posted on his 28th birthday, November 9, 2018.

“See you Instagram! Hopefully will see you someday when the world is a better place,” Sooraj had shared in his Insta story.

Recent Sooraj Pancholi was dragged into controversy, associating him to the untimely deaths of Sushant Singh Rajput and his ex-manager Disha Salian.

“I don’t even know who Disha is, I have never met her in my life. I found out about her after Sushant’s death. Someone has written this rubbish on their personal Facebook page, made it into a movie script and put it out there,” Sooraj had told Bombay Times during an interview.

Speaking about the controversy connecting him to Sushant, Sooraj had said, “It feels like it’s me against the world. First of all, it’s painful that Sushant is no more. People using his name for whatever reasons is wrong. The situation is such that anyone writes anything and it goes viral in a few minutes. People who don’t know the truth, actually believe what’s been written. I have also been getting supportive messages saying, ‘Be strong and cope with it, these are hard times and jobless people are spreading these rumours’. But, at the end of the day, I am human, too.”

Despite giving clarification for lot of times, Sooraj continued to face flak on social media. The 'Hero' actor had also filed a police complaint for harassment.

On Friday, Sooraj’s father, Adiya Pancholi, in an interview to Aaj Tak said, “One foolish guy posted and all this major media picked it up and made it into an issue. This is not fair. Everyone has to be responsible, we had to go through so much pain.” He added, “I am not on social media but they are trolling Sooraj that he is a ‘murderer’. This is the reason he had to turn his comments off. What is this?”
