UP government forms SIT to probe police's involvement with Vikas Dubey
Lucknow : The Uttar Pradesh government has set up a special investigation team [SIT] to probe the local police's alleged involvement with slain gangster Vikas Dubey.
According to an official statement said, “Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Bhoosreddy will head the SIT, which will have Additional DG Hari Ram Sharma and DIG Ravinder Goud as its members.”
The SIT will be submitting its report by July 31 after looking into the matter closely and studying all related documents and spot inspection in Kanpur, said the statement.
The team is also been asked to probe into what action was taken in all the cases lodged against Dubey.
The SIT will also probe what action was taken to cancel the bail of Vikas Dubey and what action has been taken against him under the Goonda Act, the National Security Act, Gangsters Act.
