New Delhi : 1 man was killed and five others were injured after sudden explosion in the office of Trinamool Congress in West Midnapore district today. The blast took place at Mamata Banerjee's party office located 130 km away from Kolkata.

Sources reported that the explosion spot showed twisted metal rods and chunks of concrete strewn on the premises of TMC office. Cops have gathered the evidences from the spot and are investigating the reason for the blast. The injured people were rushed to the hospital.

Police report claims that the explosion took place at 10 am. People around believe that the crude bomb or a gas cylinder inside the TMC office might be the cause of explosion.

Trinamool legislator Pradyut Ghosh said that the cause of the explosion could not be traced till noon and police are looking into the matter, news agency Press Trust of India reported.
