12 fresh arrests in connection to violence in North-East Delhi
New Delhi : The Delhi Police has made 12 fresh arrests in connection to violence against the amended Citizenship Act in northeast part of Delhi, said an official on Thursday.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the police had arrested around 9 people for their alleged involvement in the violence.
Giving details of the arrests, officials said while 12 people were arrested in connection with the violence and vandalism in Seelampur, five have been held for the Jafrabad case and four in the Dayal Pur cases.
On Tuesday, several protesters had thrown stones at police personnel, torched public vehicles and vandalized two police booths as well as three buses in Seelampur on Tuesday, leaving 21 people injured. They were demanding roll back of Citizenship Amendment Bill.
