22 rebel Congress MLAs join BJP in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal : 22 Congress MLAs, including six leaders who had resigned earlier with Jyotiraditya Scindia, met BJP President JP Nadda on Saturday.

All of the leaders are set to be inducted in the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Jyotiraditya Scindia was also present during their meeting with JP Nadda. Apart from him, two key leaders of Madhya Pradesh -- Narendra Tomar and Kailash Vijayvargiya were also present.

It is because of these 22 MLAs, Congress government collapsed and Kamal Nath had no option but to resign from his post ahead of the critical floor test.

In his resignation letter to Congress’ interim President Sonia Gandhi, Scindia wrote: “While my aim and purpose remain the same as it has always been from the very beginning, to serve the people of my state and country, I believe I am unable to do this anymore within this party.”

He even accused his former party of living in denial.
