2.85 lakh new coronavirus cases registered in India today
New Delhi : India on Wednesday recorded more than 2.85 lakh new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, 11 per cent more than what was recorded on Tuesday.
The test positivity rate, which indicates if the virus is under community transmission stage, has increased from 15.52 per cent to 16.16 per cent.
In the same time frame, 664 coronavirus-related deaths have been reported.
The country's active caseload now stands at 22 lakh -- 5.5 per cent of the total number of infections so far. The recovery rate now stands at 93.23 per cent, with 2.99 lakh recoveries in the past 24 hours. The country has seen 3.73 crore recoveries from the infection so far.
A total of 72.05 crore samples have been tested so far, with 17.69 lakh of them tested over the past 24 hours.
