New Delhi : Mild tremors were felt in parts of Delhi-NCR as a low-intensity earthquake struck Haryana's Jhajjar district. The magnitude of the earthquake was measured to be 3.7, according to National Center for Seismology.

The agency said that the earthquake struck 10 kilometer North of Jhajjar at around 10:37pm at a depth of about 5kms.

Soon after the quake, people started sharing their experiences on the social networking sites.

Delhi, which lies close to a faultline, is susceptible to big earthquakes, geologists say. Since April 12, the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR) has recorded over two dozen earthquakes.

Delhi currently falls in the seismic zone IV, which represents high-risk zone. India has been divided into four seismic zones – II, III, IV, and V – in accordance to increasing intensity and frequency of earthquakes.
