4-year-old Delhi boy rapes classmate in school, booked

New Delhi : In a shocking incident, a four-year-old boy from Delhi has been booked for allegedly raping his classmate from the school.

The boy allegedly raped a girl in a classroom as well as the washroom of a prominent private school in west Delhi, police said.

The girl told her parents that the boy used his finger and also sharpened pencil to assault her sexually. The girl sustained injuries in her private parts, her mother said.

The case of rape has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

“The Indian Penal Code (IPC) provides children below seven years of age certain protections against prosecutions. We are examining those provisions even as we are handling the matter with utmost sensitivity,” said Dependra Pathak, Delhi Police’s chief spokesperson.

The cops are also examining CCTV footage from the school as the girl alleged that there was no staff or students present when the incident happened.
