New Delhi : The Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, will organize the 4th Young SP Conference and 3rd Police Expo - 2022 in collaboration with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FICCI) on September 29-30, 2022 at Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Auditorium, BPR&D HQrs, Mahipalpur, New Delhi. 

Shri Nityanand Rai, Hon’ble MoS for Home Affairs will Inaugurate the two-day programme, while the Valedictory Function will be Addressed by Shri Ajay Kumar Mishra, Hon’ble MoS for Home Affairs. 

In this conference, over 200 young Superintendent of Police (SP) and above are also scheduled to participate. The conference theme “Innovation and Research in Cyber Crime Management, Drones and Counter Drones”. 

It is being organized with an objective to create an awareness among young Superintendents of Police from States/UTs, and Commandants from CAPFs regarding latest technologies in areas such as cybercrime management, drones, counter drones and other related fields such as predictive policing, crime and related data analytics, geospatial technology, surveillance and CCTV equipment etc for effective delivery of police services to citizens. 

“Through the conference and expo, our objective to create awareness among young members of the police forces to engage with newer technologies and techniques available today. We, at BPR&D, have requested all the State Police and CAPFs to send one ADG rank officer and 4 Young Superintendents/Commandants to attend the 4th National Young Superintendent of Police Conference, 2022 and 3rd Police Expo,” said Karuna Sagar, Director (Modernisation), BPR&D, MHA.

Rahul Chaudhry, Mentor, FICCI Homeland Security Committee, said, “Economic growth requires peace and tranquility. Police and LEAs bear the responsibility of safeguarding lives, assets and critical infrastructure to ensure conducive environment for social and economic wellbeing of the nation.  In this technology driven era, it is important that conventional policing transforms into SMART policing as envisaged by Hon'ble PM to deal with new age challenges. 

FICCI has been working towards bringing appropriate technology and making it Atmanirbhar with users participation and LEAs, who could be one of the biggest beneficiaries of cutting edge technologies like drones, cyber, AI/ML etc. The event will bridge gap between industry and need for innovative application in policing. Drone/counter drone and cybercrime management are the focus areas around which a number of solutions and capabilities will be displayed during the course of two days."

The five theme-specific sessions at conference are: Drone as Force Multiplier for Enforcement Agencies, Counter Drone Capabilities for Neutralizing Threats Posed by Rogue Drones, Cyber Crime Management Capabilities to Address Complex Challenges faced by Police Forces, New Age Technologies for Predictive and SMART Policing and Startups - Shaping the Future of Law Enforcement. 

Apart from the talks and panel discussions by eminent experts, industry leaders, police officers and mentors, the Police Expo will have various products and equipment being showcased to Police Officers. The Police Expo will give a unique opportunity to young police officers from across the country to explore new types of equipment, interact and exchange their ideas on a common platform. 

BPR&D is continuously creating an interface between technology stakeholders like Industry, Academia and technological institutions of national importance and Law Enforcement Agencies through expositions and demonstrations of the latest technologies, products, and best practices related to Police Modernization.
