64-year-old man in Mumbai dies of coronavirus, third casualty in India
Mumbai : India on Tuesday registered its third casualty due to coronavirus after a 64-year-old patient with COVID-19 infection passed away in Mumbai. The man was a resident of Ghatkopar and was the first victim of coronavirus infection in Maharashtra.
The state has registered 39 cases till date, highest in the country.
The man had travelled to Dubai before coming to India. The 64-year-old man was suffering from other health issues as well, confirmed Praveen Pardeshi, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner.
"The patient had hypertension and severe pneumonia. Suddenly, his heart rate went very high before he died," he said.
Earlier, a man in Karnataka and a 68-year-old woman in Delhi have died due to coronavirus.
A total of 125 patients has tested positive for coronavirus in the country, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said today.
