71st Independence Day: PM Modi receives over 12000 suggestions for speech

New Delhi : The Centre opened lines for people to give suggestion on what elements should be added to Prime Minister Narendra Modi Independence Day speech at Red Fort in New Delhi.

Till August 14, nearly 12000 suggestions had come via mygov.in online portal owned by the government of India.

In the latest edition of Mann ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked citizens to come forward and share the ideas for Independence Day speech.

“For the last three years, I’ve been getting suggestions from every corner for August 15. It isn’t one person who makes that address, but it is the collective voice of 1.25 billion countrymen that resound from the Red Fort,” he said on the last Mann Ki Baat address.

Among the most popular suggestions given to PM Modi included methods of ending corruption through digitalization, improving the education system in India, cleanliness programme, ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao‘, etc.

Well, all eyes are now set on Red Fort where PM Narendra Modi will deliver the Independence Day speech.
