'A surgical strike': People of Maharashtra will avenge it, says Uddhav Thackeray

Mumbai : Hours after Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Ajit Pawar took oath as the Deputy CM of the state, Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar addressed a joint press conference in Mumbai with the former tagging it as a surgical strike on Maharashtra. He also claimed that people will avenge it.

While Uddhav Thackeray spoke on behalf of Shiv Sena, Sharad Pawar was for the NCP, Congress chose not to send any representative from their side for the joint press meet.

NCP chief Sharad Pawar, who spoke before Uddhav at the press meet, said a legislature party meeting of the Congress was under way at the time.

Sharad Pawar also claimed that Ajit Pawar's decision is his personal decision and it has nothing to do with the party.

Pawar senior warned his MLAs against breaking ranks, pointing out that the anti-defection law was in place.

Earlier on Saturday, Ajit Pawar presented letter of support from all 54 NCP MLAs, making the BJP achieve majority figure and stake claims to form the government in the state.
