New Delhi : A 17 year old girl has been admitted to hospital with serious injuries after 2 men on a bike threw acid on her face in southwest Delhi's Dwarka area.

According to media reports, the acid has also splashed into her eyes. Meanwhile, the girl has identified the 2 suspects. The police has so far arrested 3 people related to the incident.

The whole incident was captured in CCTV camera in which 2 girls can be seen walking by the side of the road when a bike slows down and one of the riders throws a liquid substance from a glass at the 17-year-old. The girl is then seen running in pain covering her face.

According to eyewitnesses, the girl ran into the neighbours house to clean up the chemical.

The teenager has been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital. She has suffered 8 per cent burns.

Delhi women's panel chief Swati Maliwal expressed concern over the incident, questioning why the sale of acid cannot be restricted so that such heinous crimes can be prevented.
