Adil Ahmad Dar - The terrorist behind deadly Pulwama attack

Pulwama : Adil Ahmad Dar, a 22-year-old youth has allegedly executed the deadly Pulwama terrorist strike on February 14, 2019 that martyred 40 CRPF personnel.

The jawans were in their vehicles when an IED blast ripped through the buses.

Adil, who was trained for this execution, has reportedly joined the Jaishe -Mohammad (JeM) when he was in Class XI. A J&K police official said that he was on the military's radar ever since he had made a connection with the terrorist outfit.

“He was highly radicalised and joined JeM while he was a student,” the police source said.

Adil Ahmad Dar was also known as ‘Waqas Commando of Gundibagh’ and 'Adil Ahmad Gaadi Takranewala.’

According to a report, he was a terrorist of category C. Dar’s family said that he was shot in the leg when he took part in the protests against the killing of Burhan Wani in 2016. His father, Ghulam Hassan Dar, had filed a police complaint after he went missing. But their search reportedly ended after his picture was posted on social media platforms, holding an AK-47 assault rifle and with ‘Waqas Commando’ as his code name.

Hours after the attack on CRPF personnel, the JeM claimed responsibility.

In a video that surfaced online following the Pulwama attack, Dar said that he had prepared and waited for this moment for a year. “By the time this video is out, I will be enjoying in heaven,” he said. “I am proud... I am the real propagator of Islam and my name will be written in golden letters,” he said.
