Amid heavy shelling, Indian Army rescues 217 students from three schools

Srinagar : Indian Army on Tuesday rescued over 217 students and 15 teachers stuck in three schools due to heavy shelling by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir

According to reports, the students were stuck in schools for over six hours before Indian Army rescued them risking their lives.

Pakistani Forces on Tuesday morning started firing indiscriminately towards the Indian Territory around the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri.

Jammu and Kashmir Police confirmed that all the students were evacuated from the schools in bullet proof vehicles. 

"Total 217 students and 15 teachers were rescued by authorities as Tuesday witnessed one of the worst incidents of ceasefire violation by Pakistan," said Deputy Commissioner of Rajouri Shahid Iqbal Choudhary.
