Apar India Foundation's noble initiative, launched rehabilitation program For Juveniles in Delhi
New Delhi : The Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLA) in collaboration with Apar India Foundation on Thursday launched a rehabilitation campaign in Delhi for the juveniles who are in conflict with the law. The evening was graced by some senior jurists and noted judges of Delhi High Court and Sessions Court.
The rehabilitation programme organized at 'Place of Safety' at Majnu ka Tila inducted a 'Beauty Wellness Center' with the cloobaruon and a 'Mobile Repairing Academy' for the juveniles that will provide oriented training to the children who committed offences at some point of time in their life and currently spending their days at rehabilitation center.
R.K. Jain, Chairman, Apar India Foundation expressed his satisfaction on the eve of this evening. He said, "We are here to create an ecosystem in order to create a favorable environment for the children post their rehabilitation. We are imparting training to the juveniles. We always believe that society have to be empathetic towards the children who are homeless and less educated. It is our shared and collective responsibility to do our bits to educate and persuade them not to deviate and commit offences."
The children at the place of safety demonstrated several cultural performances invoking patriotism and nationalism. There were dance performances by the children.
Honourable Dr. Justice S. Muralidhar, Judge, Delhi High Court & Chairperson DHCLSC, said, "This is a place to forgetting the bitterness of life. Your (children's) experience here will give you immense satisfaction when you go out on the world. It is a very special occasion. This initiative will help to children to become self-sufficient and self-reliant. Hard work and honesty are the motto of life. All of us make mistakes. Some of us are fortunate but some are none. The children would learn from this and take lessons and move forward in life with positivity. Be in the right company, your future will be bright. People coming from different walks of lives ate here. I wish very bright future for you."
Along with eminent judges of District and Session Judge, Apar Jain and Surbhi Jain of Apar India Foundation were also present at event.
'I want to learn how to dance after my rehabilitation ends. I want to spend time for the family. I do regret two years of my life that I wasted. It will never be repeated," said a 19 years old child at the place of safety.
"This is a sensitive thought that was inherited among us because of the jurists like Muralidhar, Justice Sistani and Justice Rajiv Shakdher. We have collaborated with top-notch stylist Jawed Habib to start a wellness center. It is an attempt make the post rehabilitation life of the children easy, self dependent and empathetic. It is a placement oriented programme. Even in the past we have done such projects," Kanwal Jeet Arora, Member Secretary, Delhi Legal Services Authority.
