Bank officials searched PM Modi for 32 years. Read why?
New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday revealed that he had no operational bank account till the time he became an MP because of shortage of money.
Remembering his school days, PM Narendra Modi said how Dena Bank had started a piggy bank scheme for students. Under the policy, students were giving piggy bank and their bank accounts were opened.
PM Modi revealed how the bank officials also opened his account but he had no money in it. After he left the village, the bank account became a liability for the financial body and their officials kept looking for him to close the account.
After struggling for over 32 years, the bank officials finally found Prime Minister Narendra Modi and contacted him for the closure of the account.
He revealed all this while launching India Post Payments bank, which aims at providing financial benefits to all corners of the country.
