Bharat Bandh on Monday (September 10) over fuel prices
New Delhi : The opposition has called for Bharat Bandh on September 10 over rising fuel prices in India. Other parties like Samajwadi Party, DMK and NCP have also extended their support for the move.
Trinamool Congress, however, has planned other kind of protest and will not enforce a shutdown in West Bengal.
Opposition leaders had held a meeting at rebel JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav’s residence during which they decided for Bharat Bandh.
“Most of the parties have given consent…but consultation is going on with three or four parties. We have not yet spoken to the BSP. As far as the Trinamool Congress is concerned, they have agreed for the agitation. They will not give the bandh call,” AICC treasurer Ahmed Patel told reporters.
The Congress has asked the NGOs to support their decision on September 10 from 9am to 3pm.
