Cabinet reshuffle to take place on Sunday

New Delhi : Cabinet reshuffle will take place on Sunday at 10 AM, said news agency Press Trust of India in one of its tweet.

Big changes are expected amid resignations from various ministers in the cabinet.

In the reshuffle, that will take hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi leaves for China to attend BRICS Summit, it is exoected that about two dozen ministers could get affected in the shuffle.

The reshuffle is believed to be a last reshuffle ahead of 2019 Assembly Elections.

Minister of State for Skill Development Rajeev Pratap Rudy on Thursday night resigned from the Union Council of Ministers, while six others are believed to have offered to resign from their posts, ahead of much-speculated reshuffle shortly.

Union ministers Uma Bharati, Radha Mohan Singh, Giriraj Singh, Kalraj Mishra, Nirmala Sitharaman, Mahendra Nath Pandey, Faggan Singh Kulaste and Sanjiv Baliyan are understood to have offered to quit after a nudge from the party to pave way for the Cabinet reshuffle, informed sources said.

In a late night development, Rudy met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and handed over his resignation.

Earlier in the day, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah, along with General Secretary (Organisation) Ram Lal, met more than half-a-dozen union ministers at his residence and is believed to have sought their resignations, saying their services would be utilised in the party organisation.
