Castration should be considered in case of child rape: Madras High Court

Chennai : Madras High Court has asked Centre to consider castration punishment for the culprits in child rape cases

In wake of rising number in child rape cases, the order has been passed

Between 2012 and 2014, the number of these crimes had increased from 38,172 to 89,423

"The law is ineffective and incapable of addressing the menace," Justice N Kirubakaran said

"The court is sure the castration of child rapists will fetch magical results," he added

Countries like Russia, Poland, America and Florida have the punishment enforced for offenders
