New Delhi : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for questioning in the liquor policy case, with the scheduled date being April 16.

Simultaneously, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the central government of applying pressure on them following their attainment of national party status.

AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, while addressing a press conference, claimed that a conspiracy has been orchestrated to arrest Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Sanjay Singh further criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, referencing Kejriwal's previous statement in the Delhi Assembly about the PM's friend's black money, stating, "The day Arvind Kejriwal had said in Delhi Assembly that PM’s friend's black money is the PM’s black money, I told him it's your number next. They will do everything to cover PM's corruption."

In February, the CBI arrested Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia after interrogating him for over eight hours in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. Sisodia was charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Corruption Act, including Section 120 b (criminal conspiracy) and 477 A (intent to defraud).

In July of the previous year, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena recommended a CBI investigation into allegations of "undue benefits" given to private liquor vendors in the new excise policy. Subsequently, in August, the CBI conducted raids in over 20 locations in Delhi-NCR and Punjab, including Manish Sisodia's residence.
