New Delhi : It is winter time and the cold wave in North India has intensified with parts of Delhi recording a drop in temperature. Aya Nagar, which is one of the most peripheral localities in South West Delhi, recorded minimum temperature of 1.8 degree Celsius on Friday morning, whereas the minimum temperatures in Safdarjung was recorded at 4 degree Celsius.

To get away from the cold wave, Delhi citizens were seen lighting bonfires and using heaters at the locations.

The biggest problem arises due to cold wave is with the people who are homeless and for that the government has opened shelter homes so that they can find respite from the chilling winter.

Meanwhile, the Metrological Department has said that the cold wave will continue till Saturday (January 7), although it is expected that the similar condition make continue till January 11.
