Karauli : Communal clashes broke down on Saturday in Rajasthan's Karauli district; 35 people have been injured in the incident that forced authorities to announce a curfew in the area.

It has been learned that the clashes started after stone pelting was done at a bike rally, which was organized to mark the new year as per the Hindu calender. The incident happened when the bikers were passing through a Muslim-dominated area. Later, shops and vehicles were set on fire.

Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot tweeted that he has taken note of the situation and has asked the police officials to take stringent action against the culprits. Meanwhile, he asked people to maintain peace in the region.

According to media reports, around 35 people have been injured in the clashes. They have been sent to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Meanwhile, Section 144 has been imposed in Karauli and the internet services have been suspended from April 2 to April 3 midnight.
