Congress MP Dhiraj Sahu's old tweet goes viral as I-T raid cash haul reaches Rs 353 crores
New Delhi : A BJP leader on Sunday shared old tweet of Congress MP Dhiraj Sahu, who had once questioned demonetization, asking how people still have black money when the demonetization has been implemented in the nation.
The Income Tax department has recovered a total sum of Rs 353 crores from the premises of Congress MP Dhiraj Sahu, which has created a controversial stir in the politics. On Wednesday, the Income Tax department had raided Dhiraj Sahu's properties, where he had stacked cash in the almirahs.
Since the counting could not be completed in a day, it took two to three days to complete the counting of cash stacked. The I-T raids were at the premises of Boudh Distilleries Private Limited across Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
Meanwhile, no official statement has been released from MP or company. Congress, however, has maintained that they have no relation to the matter and businesses of MP. He should explain the large quantity of cash he had with him.
The counting has become a matter of attraction as it is the nation's biggest cash haul in single operation. The SBI branch where the counting took place received 176 bags full of cash. Three banks were roped in for the counting process. 40 currency counting machines were brought in.
BJP's Amit Malviya shared a screenshot of Dhiraj Sahu's old tweet in which he can be seen questioning how people still have black money after demonetisation. "Dhiraj Prasad Sahu has a dark sense of humour," Malviya tweeed.
"I feel pained seeing so much corruption and black money in the country even after noteban. This is beyond my understanding how people can accumulate so much of black money. Only Congress can uproot corruption from the party," Dhiraj Prasad Sahu tweeted in 2022.
