Patna : Congress President Rahul Gandhi has been scheduled to address a 'Jan Akanksha Rally' in Patna on Sunday. The party has organised a public meeting at the Gandhi Maidan after almost the three decades.

Last time, Rahul Gandhi's father and former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi had addressed a rally in Bihar in 1989 at the same venue.

Congress has been struggling to fetch stronghold in the area. The party has been in the rule with a small alliance with other political parties.

The Congress leader and MLC Prem Chand Mishra claimed that the party has invited top political leaders from across the country to attend the party.

"It will be a huge rally as the party is holding it after 28 years without any alliance. All party workers, MPs or MLAs have geared up to make this rally a big success. We have invited all Opposition leaders to attend this rally in Patna. People of Bihar have the right to know what the Central and Bihar government has done so far for poor and common people," he said.
