Coronavirus: 25 per cent of all active cases came in last three days
New Delhi : India's total tally of active coronavirus cases is above 40,000 and 25 per cent of all the active cases have been registered in last three days. On Sunday, India registered its another peak in number of cases in single day.
2,667 new cases have been registered on Sunday, surpassing Saturday’s record of 2,564.
The situation becomes worrying as the spike has come just before the relaxations have been implemented in the nation.
The total number of coronavirus cases in India now stands at 42,456; 11,442 people have recovered so far and 1,390 people have died of the virus.
Delhi also registered a record number of increases in the coronavirus cases. With 427 new COVID-19 cases, the total tally of the national capital stands at 4,549.
The most dramatic fold has been registered in Punjab where the total number of cases doubled in just a day. In the past two days, Punjab’s Covid-19 count has increased nearly 200 per cent from 585 on Friday to 1,102 on Sunday.
Haryana which had been keeping low in terms of new cases also registered 66 new cases on Sunday. Faridabad has overtaken Gurugram with 73 and 72 cases respectively.
