COVID-19: PM Narendra Modi announces 21-day complete lockdown in India
New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced complete lockdown in India for next three weeks from Tuesday midnight.
"In wake of the current situation, the nationwide complete lockdown will be in place for the next 21 days (three weeks)," said PM Narendra Modi in his second address to the nation over Covid-19.
He mentioned that it will be 'a kind of curfew'.
PM Narendra Modi mentioned that if we fail to manage the next 21 days then we will be pushed back 21 years.
"Today India is at the stage where our current actions will define that to what extent we can bring down the impact of the disaster. This is the time to strengthen our resolve again and again," he said.
PM Modi also hailed people of India for their successful 'Janta Curfew' saying that they showed how Indian can come together and fight any situation when the question is of the nation's safety.
"One-day Janta curfew showed how we Indians came together and fight against any trouble which comes before the country and mankind," he added.
