Death-sentence for man convicted for rape
Mumbai : A Mumbai Court on Friday awarded death sentence to the man convicted on Tuesday for the rape and murder of software engineer Esther Anuhya in January last year.
Judge Vrushali Joshi called it a rarest of the rare case and pronounced that the accused must be hanged by his neck till he is dead.

In January, decomposed body of the software engineer Esther Anuhya, 23, was found in the suburban area of Mumbai.
Sanap was arrested from Nashik in March this year and was charged with raping and murder of Esther.
What Had Happened?

Esther had returned from her hometown after Christmas break and was at the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, where Sanap offered her a ride and convinced to drop her to the hostel.
Midway he stopped his motorcycle and pretended that he has run out of petrol. In foggy weather he pulled her into thick bushes and attempted rape on her.
He walked out from the spot by burning Esther’s body and taking all his belongings including laptop and bag.
With the help of CCTV footage cops managed to find clue of Sanap and nabbed him.
