Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal calls Nuh violence "deeply troubling", appeals for peace

New Delhi : Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday shared his views on the communal violence that erupted in Nuh district of Haryana and now spread to neighbouring Gurugram and Faridabad region. He tagged the violence as deeply troubling and appealed to the people of the state to maintain peace and harmony in the critical time.

He said that the people of the state must come together to stand against the ones who are against peace and doing politics of violence.

The violence has resulted in the loss of five lives. In Nuh, four individuals, including two home guards, lost their lives, and several others sustained injuries during an attempt by mobs to halt a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession. Additionally, in Gurugram, a naib imam was tragically killed at a mosque.

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal wrote in a tweet, "The communal violence in Nuh (Mewat), Haryana, is deeply troubling. Following Manipur in the Northeast, such incidents in Haryana are not good signs." He added, "I sincerely request people of Haryana to join hands in this delicate time and maintain peace and brotherhood. We must unite to defeat the forces of violence and the politics of discord."
