Delhi Election: Voting ends as voter turnout increases at the end

New Delhi : The voter turnout in Delhi election remained low till afternoon and rose at the end to cross the 50% mark. The total voter turnout was 54.02 till 5 pm and it is likely to increase marginally as some voters were still inside the polling booth.

In 2015, the total voter turnout was 63.5 percent when Arvind Kejriwal had marked landslide win. The low turnout comes at the end of a bitter campaign in which poll rhetoric touched a new low.

On one hand Arvind Kejriwal centered his campaign over his development of hospitals and schools and on the other hand BJP tagged him as a terrorist who made false promises and took side of "anti-national" elements.

Congress was seen least interested in campaigning for the polls as Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi hardly campaigned for their voters in Delhi.

The results will be declared on February 11.
