New Delhi : The number of new coronavirus cases in the national capital is raising high with second wave hitting the nation. Over a time period of last 24 hours, more than 1800 new cases have been registered in the national capital, increasing the total number of active cases to 7000, highest since September this year.

However, it looks like the national capital is not prepared for the worst. Most of the private hospitals have started showing that they are out of ICU beds for COVID-19 patients. According to the Delhi government's Corona app, four of the five key hospitals in the city have no bed with ventilators available in the Intensive Care Unit.

All eight ICU beds are occupied in Delhi's Holy Family Hospital. Fortis hospital and Max hospital in Shalimar Bagh and the Indian Spinal Injury Centre in Vasant Kunj have no available beds in the ICU either. Sri Gangaram Hospital is showing one bed available.

Beds with ventilators, however, are available at the government-run hospitals. Of the 5,765 beds earmarked for Covid patients, 4,301 are vacant. Of the total 785 ICU beds with ventilators, 544 are vacant and 887 of the 1,210 ICU beds without ventilators are available too.

The Delhi government has asked residents to follow COVID 19 protocols seriously and not indulge in social gatherings too.
