Delhi: Police arrests 88-year-old drug dealer
Delhi : Delhi Police has arrested the oldest drug dealer in the national capital.
Identified as 88-year-old woman Rajrani, she is believed to be in the business for decades. She overtook the business in 1990 from her husband, who died in the same year.
Since 1996, she has been arrested three times by the Delhi Police.
On Wednesday, Rajrani was arrested from a small locality in west Delhi's Inderpuri after the police laid out a trap for her.
According to DCP (West) Monika Bhardwaj, police raided the house and arrested Rajrani and found heroin in her possession.
During the interrogation, she told a sad story behind her actions. According to her, Rajrani was married at a very young age and had seven children along with her husband, who was a drug dealer. Six out of seven children died due to drug abuse.
Police have registered a case against Rajrani under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and the Excise Act.
