Don't cremate my body until CM Fadnavis visits: Farmer's suicide note

Mumbai : A farmer in Maharashtra asked his family not to cremate his body until Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis pays a visit to his family. Farmer Dhanaji Chandrakant Jadhav from Solapur wrote these heart wrenching words in his suicide note before committing suicide.

He hanged himself from a tree around 8:00PM on Wednesday and left a two-page suicide note for his family.

In the suicide note he wrote, "I am a farmer. My name is Dhanaji Chandrakant Jadhav. I am committing suicide.” Jadhav asked the people to take his body to his village adding “…Don’t cremate me till the time Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis arrives."

According to a media report, farmer Dhanaji Chandrakant Jadhav had taken a loan of Rs 60,000 from a private lender and was unable to return it because of low prices he was getting for his crops.

Jadhav is survived by a mother, wife, two brothers and two sons. According to the reports, his elder son is studying in class 12 and the younger one is in class 10.

On the other hand, the protest of the Maharashtra farmers has entered its ninth day today.
