Dr. K. A. Paul Appeals to RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat to Promote Peace and Religious Harmony on Mother Teresa’s Death Anniversary

New Delhi : On the death anniversary of Mother Teresa, the world’s most popular evangelist and peace advocate Dr. K. A. Paul has appealed to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat to promote peace, religious harmony and mutual respect among people of different faiths.

In a message addressed to Bhagwat, Dr. Paul recalled his association with Mother Teresa and highlighted what he described as her message of love, humility, sincerity, integrity, honesty, credibility and simplicity.

Dr. Paul said he personally knew Mother Teresa for around 10 years and described her as an extraordinary humanitarian. He also referred to his work in training people inspired by her legacy across several countries.

Addressing Bhagwat, who he said was in London, Dr. Paul referred to remarks Bhagwat made in New York on August 29 regarding religious harmony. Paul said he welcomed Bhagwat’s message that people of different faiths should respect one another and live together peacefully.

“Please, when you go back to India, instruct your millions of followers to have Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Jains and Jews live in peace,” Dr. Paul said in his message.

He urged religious and political leaders to promote an atmosphere in which people can practise their respective faiths without fear or discrimination. Referring to his own peace initiatives, Dr. Paul said his experience of bringing religious leaders together had reinforced his belief in peaceful coexistence.

Dr. Paul also spoke about Mother Teresa’s emphasis on serving and loving everyone. He urged people of all faiths to follow the principles of compassion and humanity.

“Be a good Hindu, be a good Muslim, be a good Christian,” another Teresa said while calling for greater tolerance and understanding among communities.

In his message, Dr. Paul also raised concerns about Christian , Sikh and Muslim institutions and properties and appealed to Bhagwat to ensure that Christians and Muslims are allowed to live peacefully. He further called for dialogue over issues concerning the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA).

Concluding his message, Dr. Paul urged people to share his appeal and reflect on Mother Teresa’s message of love and service.

“Learn from Mother Teresa. Love everybody. Love your enemies.”
