New Delhi : Tremors have been felt in Delhi and northern part of the nation after an earthquake struck the neighbouring nation Nepal.

The earthquake has been measured to be of 5.1 on the Richter scale. No loss of life-related to earthquake incident has been reported yet from Nepal and India.

There are reports that people in Uttar Pradesh ran out of their houses after tremors were registered.

The epicenter of the quake, which occurred at around 7:30 pm, was located at a shallow depth of 14 kilometers, about 87 kilometers northwest of Dailekh district of Nepal, private agency EMSC tweeted.

"An earthquake was recorded in Delhi on Tuesday sometime back. Tremors were felt in Delhi-National Capital Region," private weather agency Skymet tweeted.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake’s epicentre was located in Nepal’s Khaptad National Park.
