New Delhi : The eastern regions of India, namely Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha, are anticipated to encounter temperatures above the normal range in the month of May, said the weather office. Additionally, there is a possibility of heat-wave conditions on certain days.

Conversely, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has projected that the northwestern and west-central parts of the country will experience relatively warmer nights and temperatures below the normal range during the daytime. This information was shared in the monthly temperature and rainfall outlook for May.

In terms of rainfall, the weather office predicts normal to above-normal precipitation in the northwest and west central regions of India throughout May. This includes areas such as Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and certain parts of western Uttar Pradesh.

On the other hand, significant portions of the northeastern region, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and southern Karnataka are likely to witness below-normal rainfall during this period.
