Father of 5, accused of assaulting hundreds of girls, arrested in Delhi

New Delhi : An alleged paedophile has been nabbed by the Delhi Police for assaulting hundreds of children in last 13 years.

Identified as Sunil Rastogi, by profession a tailor in Uttarakhand, used to visit the national capital on regular basis and has been named in nothing less than six cases of cases of sexual assault or attempted sexual assault on children.

"The accused told us he used to target girls between 7 and 10. Whenever he would find any girl going home from school, he used to mislead her on the pretext that her father had sent some clothes or some other articles to give her and take her to an isolated place," senior police officer Omvir Singh said on Sunday.

Rastogi ran out of luck after last three cases were registered against him in east Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar - one on December 13 and two others on January 12.

The CCTV footage is also being scrutinised to ensure that Mr Rastogi does not escape free for his crimes. The initial developments suggest that he is a habitual offender.
