Fed up of fights, man kills wife, dumped body near Delhi: Cops

New Delhi : Suspected to be a dowry murder case, a 21-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly shooting his wife and then dumping her body neat Haryana's Panipat, said police on Wednesday.

Identified as Sahil Chopra, the victim's husband and his one employee Shubham have been arrested from Delhi. The third accused, Badal, who is Shubham's cousin, was arrested from his native village in Karnal, they said.

According to the police, the victim used to work in an event management company.

On Tuesday, Nancy's father approached the police and said that his daughter's phone was switched off since November 11 and he feared that something had happened to her, they said.

According to the information provided to the police, Nancy was married to Sahil on March 27, 2019, and since then she was being tortured for dowry.

Subsequently, a case was registered at Janakpuri police station and a probe was initiated, a senior police officer said.

After the arrest, Sahil Chopra told police that he shot his wife as he was fed up with the daily fights with the wife.

The accused accompanied a police team to a village near Panipat refinery from where Nancy's body was recovered, he added.

The accused was later presented in the Dwarka court from where he has been sent to two-day police custody.
