Flash flood in Dharamshala after cloudbursts
Dharamshala : A cloudburst in Dharamshala resulted in flash floods, washing away vehicles on roads, and damaging several properties in the Bhagsu Nag area. Videos of flash flood are now being circulated on social media.
News agency ANI shared a small video clip showing dreadful visuals of a huge amount of water gushing rapidly through the parked vehicles. After a few seconds into the video, an SUV can be seen flowing in the water but gets blocked by the other vehicles.
Meanwhile, people can be heard screaming in the background of the video. Once the car was blocked by other vehicles, one of them said: "Now, no car will go beyond this." Check out the video below:
Heavy rain has lashed the Kangra district, 58 km from Dharamshala, throwing life into disarray. The rapid pace at which the water was flowing transformed — in no time — a brook in Bhagsu Nag, which is a tourist attraction, into nothing short of a river.
CM Jairam Thakur has sought a report on the loss due to cloudburst and directed authorities to provide all possible assistance to the people.
Another person shared a video on Twitter to showcase the magnitude of flash floods. The person recording the video is heard saying, "This is live from Dharamshala. A cloudburst has taken place. The visuals look scary as tiny houses in the background appear to be at the risk of being washed away in a while if not immediately.
