Fodder scam: Sentencing today, Lalu Prasad Yadav pleads minimum punishment

Ranchi : Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad Yadav's advocate has filed a plea in CBI Special Court seeking minimum punishment for the party supremo in the case. In the plea, Lalu's bad health has been cited as the prime reason for it.

“I have no role in this scam directly; consider minimum punishment keeping in view my age and health grounds,” Lalu Prasad said in his plea.

Meanwhile, the party’s Bihar chief Ramchandra Purve said, “Lalu Prasad Yadav has blessings of the almighty and we have faith that he will get justice. I am sure our chief Lalu ji will attend the RJD’s crucial meeting tomorrow (Saturday).”

The Special CBI Court is likely to pronounce quantum of sentence on Saturday via video conferencing at 2pm.

Lalu Prasad Yadav has been found guilty in the Rs 900 crore fodder scam. RJD President is likely to knock High Court's door after quantum of sentence.
