Gorakhpur Child deaths: Supreme Court refuses to intervene

Gorakhpur : Supreme Court has refused to intervene in the matter of Child death in a Gorakhpur hospital. It directed State Government to take the appropriate action.

If someone has any grievances, it should be first raised at Allahabad High Court, the top court said.

A demand of SIT probe was raised in the Supreme Court by a lawyer.

More than 60 children have lost their lives in Gorakhpur's BRD Medical College. Parents claim lack of oxygen and facility as the reason behind deaths while hospital has refused the allegations.

The state government has already taken action, removing the doctor in charge of the paediatrics ward and suspending the hospital chief.
