Prayagraj : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday arrived in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj and distributed assistive aids and devices to senior citizens and the differently-abled at a distribution camp.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had gone to receive the Prime Minister at the Prayagraj Airport.

The distribution camp happens to be the biggest ever camp in terms of number of beneficiaries from it.

Addressing the gathering at the Samajik Adhikarta Shivir, PM Modi said, "During the time of earlier governments, such distribution camps were hardly organized, and such mega camps were very rare. In the last 5 years, our government has set up about 9 thousand camps in different parts of the country".

He also mentioned that his government is committed to work for everyone. 

He said, "Proper participation of every differently-abled youth, differently-abled child is necessary for the creation of a new India. Be it industry, service sector or sports field, the skills of the differently-abled are constantly being encouraged."

Post the event, he will proceed towards Chitrakoot where he will by laying foundation stone for a 296-km-long Bundelkhand Expressway.

Bundelkhand Expressway, which will pass through Chitrakoot, Banda, Hamirpur and Jalaun districts will link the Bundelkhand area to the national capital through the Agra-Lucknow Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway.

Before leaving for the Prayagraj event, the PM Modi had said, "I am eagerly looking forward to being among my sisters and brothers of Uttar Pradesh tomorrow. There will be programmes in Prayagraj and Chitrakoot which would focus on empowerment of Divyangjan, infrastructure, farmer welfare and more."
