Gujarat MLA tests positive hours after his meeting with Chief Minister
Ahmedabad : A Gujarat legislator has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus hours after he took part in a meeting with the Chief Minister of the state.
Congress MLA Imran Khedawala also addresses a press conference where other leaders and health officials were also present.
According to a report by NDTV, he was having low fever from past couple of days and had given his sample for the testing. But, he kept meeting people and leaders without waiting for his results.
He has been admitted to Gandhinagar's SVP hospital, where most of the COVID-19 patients have been kept for treatment.
In the preliminary report, it has not been revealed that how many people he has contacted and will be put under quarantine. The administration is working on the matter.
Though in a relief, the videos of his meeting with the Chief Minister showed that they followed the rules of social distancing as they sat around a meter away from each other.
Besides the Chief Minister, the meeting was attended by the state ministers for health and home.
Till date, Gujarat has registered 617 positive cases of coronavirus.
