Heavy rains lash Delhi-NCR, traffic snarls in many areas
New Delhi : Several areas in Delhi-NCR witnessed heavy rainfall on Saturday afternoon, leading to traffic jams in some parts of the national capital.
The meteorological department said the minimum temperature settled a notch above the season’s average at 16.4 degrees Celsius with a cloudy morning in the national capital.
“Very small ( about 5km*25km*8km dimension) but intense convective cloud is located over central parts of Delhi which is likely to cause moderate rain alongwith moderate thunderstorm & hail activity during next 2 hours. It will subside thereafter (sic),” the India Meteorological Department (IMD) tweeted.
The MeT department further said that more rains are predicted in the evening.
“The maximum temperature is likely to settle around 27 degrees Celsius,” a weather official was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
Meanwhile, residents in Delhi-NCR region shared several pictures of the rains.
