How Sweet! Mamata Banerjee sends special West Bengal mangoes to PM

New Delhi : Politics in India has both tastes – bitter and sweet. And as the mango season is on, CM Mamata Banerjee sent special West Bengal mangoes to PM Narendra Modi.

The two political leaders fought an intense battle recently during the Bengal polls, but when it comes to non-political relation, they are often seen doing sweet things for eachother.

In her special mango package, she sent three varities - Himsagar, Malda and Lakshmanbhog.

The gesture was extended to President Ram Nath Kovind, VP M Venkaiah Naidu, defence minister Rajnath Singh and home minister Amit Shah. She also sent mangoes to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

While it may sweeten some of the bitterness aroused during the recently concluded polls, she has been sending mangoes as a continued tradition in 2011, when she first became the CM of West Bengal.
