IITF 2023: Kerala emerges as first state with Innovative Surface Projection at Pavilion
New Delhi : Kerala has positioned itself as the first Indian state to embrace surface projection technology, attracting visitors to its pavilion at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. The Kerala Pavilion, skillfully curated by a team of 30 artists led by Jinan.CB, Binu Haridas, and Jigish CB, has become a focal point for the visitors who look forward to explore the state's rich commercial, social, and cultural history.
The surface projection, ingeniously displayed atop four pillars representing Kerala's economic pillars of tourism, industry, IT, and infrastructure, has transformed the pavilion into a living tapestry of Vasudhaivakutumbakam, a concept uniting people through trade. It narrates the history of Keralites venturing worldwide, intertwining with diverse global communities in pursuit of Kerala's famed spices.
Since display of surface projection technology is a first by Kerala, the innovative approach has allowed visitors to grasp the essence of Kerala's evolution swiftly, encapsulating centuries of commercial, social, and cultural heritage within a brief timeframe.
Aarav Kapoor, a student visiting Kerala pavillion, said, "I never imagined technology could bring history to life in such a captivating way. The surface projection at the Kerala Pavilion made me feel like I was part of Kerala's journey through time. It's not just a display; it's an immersive experience that I'll remember for a long time."
Another visitor Rajesh Sharma said, "As someone who has attended multiple editions of the IITF, the Kerala Pavilion's surface projection is a game-changer. It adds a dynamic and engaging element to the traditional pavilion setup. Kerala's bold move to incorporate cutting-edge technology sets a new standard for other states to follow."

Jinan.CB, Binu Haridas, and Jigish CB, the architects behind this year's pavilion, continue their streak of success after leading last year's award-winning Kerala Pavilion. This year, Kerala takes on a new role as a partner state, showcasing its commitment to pushing boundaries in promoting its heritage and achievements on a national stage. The pioneering use of surface projection cements Kerala's reputation as a trailblazer in state pavilion presentations.
